Pentecost Scripture Prayers

Although Jesus has ascended into heaven, the disciples didn’t have to wait long before the Holy Spirit stepped onto the scene on Pentecost Sunday. 50 days after Resurrection Sunday, the next era of God’s kingdom stepped onto the scene. Let’s take a look at what happened in Acts 2.

Acts 2:1-4: “When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a]as the Spirit enabled them.”

The passage goes on to say that they had a chance to speak to the people, and thousands believed and gave their lives to Christ that day.

Dear Heavenly Father, over 2000 years ago, you inaugurated the church by having the Holy Spirit indwell in your believers. We rejoice that you have allowed us, men and women, Jew and Gentile, to experience new life. We have the opportunity to experience that same power in our lives. Thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit, our comforter, and He brings conviction to our hearts, He leads and guides our ways, and so many other things. Fill us, protect us, seal us, and deliver us. That we may continue to celebrate this day until you return again. Holy Ghost fill us and touch us again. Amen.
