The Holy Spirit Doctrine
The Kingdom of God has three powerful ingredients 1) Principals (Prov. 4:7) 2) Promises (2 Cor. 1:20) 3) Power (Acts 1:8).
When we use the word doctrine it comes from the Greek translated as “doctrine” at its root meaning, “instruction, applying to lifestyle and purpose.” In the Bible, the word doctrine is specifically used to refer to spiritual topics and areas of study.
Not knowing the doctrines of the Bible, the child of God will be, even when sincere, according to Ephesians 4:14 “..tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive”; the many well-meaning believers who are drawn into modern cults and heresies being sufficient proof. Knowing the foundational Doctrines of the faith will help Christian believers to stand strong and securely state their position to those who question their faith.
Hebrews 6:1 – 8 “Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, 2 instructions about cleansing rites, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. 3 And God permitting, we will do so. 4 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age 6 and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. 7 Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God. 8 But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end it will be burned. Here is a summary of these eight major doctrines. Knowing these doctrines will help you to know and understand the basics of our Christian Faith.
