The biblical meaning of number 24 represents priesthood and religion. Number 12 stands for perfection and the government. And since 24 is double the 12, it represents a spiritual government. According to the Bible, God gave David access to the pattern of the heavenly temple, so that he could draw the blueprints for the earthly temple that Solomon was destined to build. And among those patterns was a change of priesthood from 12 to 24 courses of priests. This is why there are a total of 24 elders around the throne in Rev. 4:4 after the earthly manifestation was patterned. Number 24 might also stand for new beginnings, spiritual rebirth, and love as the main feature of every character. If you keep seeing number 24, it’s time that you embrace change and begin a new life. The Bible teaches us that God is a God of order and not chaos. From the creation story in Genesis to the prophetic visions in Revelation, there is a consistent message of God’s sovereignty over all things. The number 24 is seen as a symbol of this divine order. The significance of 24 can also be seen in the 24 hours in a day. This is believed to represent the fullness of time and the sovereignty of God over all aspects of our lives. Each day is a gift from God, and we are called to use our time wisely and for his purposes.
We are now in a season of transition from Dispensation of Grace to the Dispensation of Judgment. In scripture there are 5 specific judgments that are revealed. Below is a brief description of them with references.
1. The Believer’s Judgment for Sin (3-fold) John 5:24
2. The Believer’s as to “works” – this will happen after the church is caught up – the place is the Judgment seat of Christ (in the Air) 2 Cor. 5:10; 1 Cor. 3:11-15; 1 Thess. 4:15-18; 1 Cor. 4:5
3. The Jews – time during the great tribulation Jer. 30:4-7; Zech. 14:1-11
4. The Nations (Gentiles) – the account of this judgment is given in Matt. 25:31-46
5. The Wicked Dead – time during the renovation of the earth by Fire – place is “The Great White Throne” – judge for their “works” – Cast into the “Lake of Fire” – Rev 20:11-15; 2 Peter 3:7.
The theme for 2024 is “THE RULE & REIGN OF CHRIST” Rev. 11:15-19 & 2 Timothy 2:12. We are now in a pivotal time of transition of End Times. While studying what the number 24 means I begin to understand that the scripture in Hebrew 12:26-29 is now happening at the end of 2023 into 2024. Hebrews is a powerful book and I began to study the Priesthood. Here are only a few things I would like to extract from what I learned about the Priesthood and the “order of Melchizedek”. The number 24 is associated with the priesthood. Since it is composed of a multiple of 12, it takes on some of 12’s meaning which is God’s power and authority, as well as symbolizing a perfect foundation, except in a higher form. 24 is also connected with the worship of God especially at Jerusalem’s temple. It is not a coincidence that the year is ending looking at Jerusalem and the Gaza strip. Psalm 72 lists 24 things that Jesus Christ, as High Priest after the order of Melchizedek, will do when He sits upon His throne and rules as King and Priest during the Millennium. They are:
1) He will righteously judge the people.
2) He will judge, with justice, the poor and needy.
3) Peace will be brought by the mountains.
4) Small hills shall also experience peace.
5) He shall judge the poor.
6) He shall save the children of the needy.
7) Those who oppress will be crushed.
8) He shall rule like rain upon grass.
9) He shall rule like the water that showers the globe.
10) He will cause the righteous to flourish.
11) He will bring the righteous an abundance of peace.
12) He shall rule from sea to sea.
13) He shall rule from the river unto the ends of the earth.
14) When he hears the needy cry out, he will deliver him.
15) The poor and those who have no help will also be delivered.
16) Those who are needy and weak will receive compassion.
17) The lives of those in need will be saved.
18) The needy who are oppressed and experience violence will be redeemed.
19) The blood of those in need will be precious in His sight.
20) He will cause an abundance of grain on the earth.
21) He will bring an abundance of fruit.
22) He will make those of the city flourish like grass.
23) He will make His name to be continued.
24) He will bless all men.
